Plumbing
I am not a plumber. No matter how simple a plumbing job is, I always have a hard time getting my head around the project. This one is no exception.
This is what I’m planning today:
Note that there are 2 intakes into the MT. One will be the existing spinning arm I have and the other will be a return manifold for the wort while mashing. I’m going for a best of both worlds aproach in the design but the reality is that I’m sure I’ll just use the return manifold for both jobs.
Rethinking the stand
I am determined to make sure that I have the proper design worked out before I begin to build this brewery. As such, I mocked up the earlier design and realized that with two shelves the top of the kegs would be way to high to look into while brewing, not to mention lifting off the Mash Tun full of spent grain.
My goal is to have a single level, easy to use, nice to look at brewery that will stand the test of time. So I’m rethinking the design.
New design:
This process is also helping me to begin to calculate a material list. I’m trying to only use materials that I have clogging up the garage. The goal is to A: save money and B:clean up the garage in the process.

Have you seen the lable?!!!
I can’t tell you how excited I am about the lables that Lisa had made for me!
Check the design out on the welcome page: http://silverlucebrewery.wordpress.com/about/
Brewery Concept
This is the current non-scale version of what I’m trying to build as the Silver Luce Brewery. I’m trying to work out the plumbing for a HERMS system before I begin to build. Let’s just say that plumbing is not my strong suit, so any comments will be helpful.
Let me introduce the Family
Without this family I wouldn’t have anything so let me introduce them.
First, my lovely wife Lisa.
Then came Harley.
And few weeks ago, Dina joined us.
So you can see, I’m one happy man.
